Held under the theme “Made in the Future”, the event was jointly organised by the Moscow government, VEB.RF and the Skolkovo Foundation, attracting more than 350 speakers from major Russian and international corporations.
A key highlight of the forum was the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Viet Nam’s National Innovation Centre (NIC) and the Skolkovo Foundation on May 28.
Do Tien Thinh, Deputy Director of the NIC, said the agreement would help strengthen Viet Nam-Russia cooperation in innovation, support businesses from both countries in entering each other’s markets and promote the commercialisation of science and technology products.
He added that the partnership would pave the way for deeper collaboration in science, technology, innovation, trade and investment. The NIC also plans to invite Russian technology and innovation firms, as well as investors, to explore opportunities and establish operations in Viet Nam.
Under the agreement, both sides are expected to support their innovation ecosystems through startup exchanges, technology transfer and business cooperation.
Timur Kornilov, Executive Director for International Strategic Partnerships, Knowledge and Technology Transfer at the Skolkovo Foundation, said the agreement outlined future cooperation programmes in technology and startups, expressing confidence that it would contribute significantly to stronger technological ties between Russia and Viet Nam.
The Skolkovo Foundation, established in 2010 on the initiative of the Russian President, focuses on developing high-tech sectors including information technology, artificial intelligence, biomedicine, energy and advanced industry. It currently supports more than 6,000 member companies.
During the forum, Vietnamese firm TASCO also partnered with organisers to host technology challenges aimed at attracting Russian businesses to the Vietnamese market, particularly in smart transport, artificial intelligence and digital data solutions.
