Vietnam climbs to second in SEA Games medal tally

Nhan Dan Online - Vietnam racked up four more gold medals today to ascend to second position on the provisional SEA Games podium with six gold, three silver and five bronze medals.

The Wushu team continued its string of successful days, with martial artists Nguyen Thi Chinh and Nguyen Thu Hoai earning two gold medals in the women's 48kg and 55kg Sanshou events.

Wrestler Doi Dang Tien beat Krisada of Thailand 7-0 to claim the men's 55kg classical crown, while his teammate Tran Van Tuong won the 66kg category following a 5-0 finish over his Lao opponent.

In addition, Vietnam brought home two more silver medals, won by Wushu athletes Duong Thuy Vy and Nguyen Manh Quyen, and two bronze medals, earned by Pham Quoc Khanh (Wushu) and Pham Sy Thu (wrestling).
