At the meeting, both sides expressed their joy that the relationship between Vietnam and Japan has been continuously strengthened and developed, with many increasingly effective and in-depth cooperation contents.
Lieutenant General Le Quang Dao emphasised that Vietnam and Japan upgrading their diplomatic relations to a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World" in 2023 is the result of strong, comprehensive and substantive development in all areas of the bilateral relationship.

In particular, the Vietnam Coast Guard has received great support and assistance from Japan in improving the capacity of the Vietnam Coast Guard through non-refundable aid packages, training support projects, and ODA loan projects from the Government of Japan.

Speaking at the diplomatic reception, Deputy Ambassador Ishikawa Isamu highly appreciated the results from the Vietnam-Japan cooperation relationship in general in recent time, especially between the Vietnam Coast Guard and Japan Coast Guard.
At the same time, he emphasised that the Vietnam Coast Guard is one of Japan's leading important partners in the field of ensuring maritime security and safety.
The Deputy Ambassador hopes that in the coming time, the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Japan Coast Guard will continue to cooperate and coordinate closely to quickly complete ongoing projects and deploy new projects, especially projects on education, training, and capacity building for the Vietnam Coast Guard's maritime law enforcement forces.
Lieutenant General Le Quang Dao expressed his hope that Ishikawa Isamu, in his new term as Deputy Ambassador of Japan to Vietnam, will actively promote the Vietnam-Japan cooperation relationship in general, especially the cooperation relationship between the Vietnam Coast Guard and Japanese partners and the Japan Coast Guard, thus contributing to peace and stability in the region.
