Vietnam strengthens tourism cooperation with important partners

Vietnam has highly appreciated its partners such as China, Japan and the Republic of Korea for their timely and continuous efforts and support to revive ASEAN tourism during the recent challenging times.

Deputy Head of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT)Ha Van Sieu made the statement at the 43rd meeting of national tourism agencies and ASEAN+3 (China, Japan and the RoK) taking place in Malaysia.

According to the VNAT, Sieu emphasised that China, Japan and the RoK are always important markets of Vietnam and the focus of promotion priority in this phase. Vietnam has carried out many promotional activities in these markets since its reopening.

This week, the VNAT is holding tourism introductions in Japan and is expected to hold similar events in China and the RoK in the coming months.

At the meeting, the parties discussed new opportunities and ways to develop and promote sustainable tourism; updated each other on capacity training programmes to improve the quality of tourism workers in ASEAN member countries; as well as exchanged information related to statistics and development strategies, investment opportunities, economic data and cruise tourism development.
