She highlighted that 14 provinces and cities of Vietnam were provided with humanitarian aid worth almost US$80 million from SOS International, which helped the country build SOS children’s villages to care for orphans and abandoned children in a family-like environment.

The Vice President expressed her hope that the organisation will continue to support Vietnam in this work in the coming time, especially in soon completing SOS villages in the northern province of Thai Binh and the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai.

Helmut Kutin said he is delighted at the effective co-operation between the Vietnamese government and his organisation in helping disadvantaged children across the country, affirming that SOS Village International will continue to co-operate with and assist Vietnam in the future.

Helmut Kutin has been consecutively elected as President of SOS Children’s Village International from 1985 until now. This is his last visit to Vietnam before he retires this year.
