VTV Cup Ferroli International Women's Volleyball Tournament opens in Lao Cai

The 2023 VTV Cup Ferroli International Women's Volleyball Tournament officially opened in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai on August 19.

The 2023 VTV Cup Ferroli International Women's Volleyball Tournament features the participation of six teams including Australia, Kansai University (Japan), Suwon Club (in the Republic of Korea), Choco Mucho Club (in the Philippines), Vietnam 1 and Vietnam 2. The teams will compete in a round-robin format.

The tournament, which will take place until August 25, is one of the outstanding events in the series of activities celebrating the 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s visit to Lao Cai and 120th founding anniversary of Sa Pa.

Lao Cai Province has invested billions of Vietnamese dongs to renovate, upgrade, and purchase equipment for the province's multi-purpose gymnasium, thus ensuring the standards for competition and training of international teams.

All tickets for the matches were sold out right after the first day of sale. The organisers have to install large screens outside the gymnasium and place thousands of seats to serve spectators.
