The union operations have helped to boost the participant of all social classes in science and technology innovation, honour intellectuals, and strengthen international co-operation in science and technology development.

In particular, VUSTA consulting, judgment and social assessment activities have played an important role in reflecting faithfully and objectively the intelligentsia’s opinions in mapping out the Party renovation plans and the national socio-economic development projects.

The union has transformed its research strategies from basic scientific research into applied research with dozens of projects to be implemented in its member associations and subordinate scientific and technological organisations.

VUSTA has become a bridge between the intellectuals and the Party and State, timely reflecting intelligentsia aspirations and demands to relevant authorities and organising regular meetings to discuss emerging issues on national development policies, especially in education and training, science and technology, and intellectuals’ policy.
