The awards ceremony was held by the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Central Power Corporation (CPC) under Electricity of Vietnam (EVN).
Four ’A’, eight ’B’, 12 ’C’ and eight consolation prizes were given to the 32 best pieces, selected from 300 entries.
The awards were presented to works published in print and electronic newspapers and those broadcast on radio and television.
Vice Chairman of the Vietnamese Journalists’ Association, Ha Minh Hue, said that the works effectively cover the issues in many regions and sectors and help raise public awareness of using energy efficiently.
At the ceremony, the organising board also officially launched the 2015 press awards for energy conservation.
The annual event aims to honour outstanding Vietnamese writings on energy efficiency published in the media, increase the quantity and improve the quality of press propaganda works in the field, and encourage journalists and press agencies to create articles on raising public awareness of energy efficiency and energy saving across the country.
The awards were first held in 2007 with the aim of increasing the number and quality of journalistic items on raising public awareness of efficient energy use.
