The Viet Nam Amazing Cup 2026 was organised by the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association, Dak Lak Province, under the direction of the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee.
After eight editions (2019–2026), the competition has continued to affirm its role as a prestigious platform for discovering, evaluating and promoting Viet Nam’s specialty coffee in accordance with international standards.
The competition aims to identify, honour, and promote the highest-quality specialty coffee lots of Viet Nam; encourage farmers, cooperatives, and enterprises to upgrade production processes to meet international standards; directly connect producers and roasters with markets both at home and abroad; and contribute to building a national brand for Vietnamese coffee and enhancing its global competitiveness.
So far, the Viet Nam Amazing Cup 2026 has the largest scale, with 182 coffee samples from 81 registered participants, representing a total output of 348 tonnes of coffee, including 262 tonnes of Robusta and 86 tonnes of Arabica.
A notable highlight of this year’s competition is the significant increase in the amount of submitted lots. For the first time, a Robusta lot reached an output of 50 tonnes and an Arabica lot 10 tonnes, demonstrating that Vietnamese specialty coffee is no longer limited to small-scale production but is gradually affirming its capacity to supply at commercial scale, meeting both domestic and international market demand.
In addition, the coffee samples represented seven key regions, including Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Gia Lai, Son La, Quang Tri, Quang Ngai, and Dong Nai, indicating that Vietnamese specialty coffee is expanding strongly and widely, gradually moving beyond traditional production areas to form new high-potential raw material regions.
All samples underwent a multi-round evaluation process in compliance with the standards of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) and the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI), with the participation of international experts and prestigious roasters as judges.
The entire scoring process was conducted in accordance with principles of independence, objectivity, and transparency, from sample coding and roasting to cupping and result compilation via specialised software, under strict supervision by the technical committee.
Following the rigorous evaluation process of the final round, the organising committee selected the top three Robusta specialty coffee samples and the top three Arabica specialty coffee samples with the highest scores for awards.
Delegates attend the award ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Thien Van, Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee, emphasised that after eight years, the Viet Nam Amazing Cup is no longer merely a competition but has become a prestigious benchmark of quality and value for the Vietnamese coffee industry. The quality of participating samples has improved significantly; processes are increasingly aligned with international standards; and the participating community has become more professional. Notably, the competition serves as an important source of practical data, helping shape how the world understands Vietnamese coffee, especially Robusta.
