Winners of Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Awards 2022 honoured

The 43 groups of winners of the 28th Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Awards was honoured at an award ceremony held in Hanoi on May 31 in the presence of Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and head of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education.

The event was jointly held by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee.

A total of 43 projects won the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Awards 2022, including four first prizes, nine second prizes, 15 third prizes and 15 consolation prizes.

This year’s awards were presented to projects in six areas of mechanical automation; energy saving and new energy technology; information technology-electronics and telecommunications; technology in response to climate change environmental protection and rational use of resources; biology for production and life; and material technology.

Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Phan Xuan Dung, President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations said that the award has attracted the active participation of a large number of scientists and technologists across the country.

Dung noted that the thousands of research projects and scientific applications have been implemented in the socio-economic and security-defence areas, making increasingly important contributions to the country’s renewal cause.

The award is the continuation of the outcomes of the previous seasons, being an important foundation to create a driver to the new development period of the country. The award also contributes to encouraging scientific and technological research and innovation throughout the country.

The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) presented the WIPO Awards to two outstanding projects developed by the groups of authors from Huong Sen Group JSC and the Institute of Agricultural Mechatronics and Post-Harvest Technology under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
