China and the United States should step up economic and trade consultations to reach a mutually beneficial agreement, a spokesperson for the annual session of China's national legislature said Monday (March 4).

* US President Donald Trump said on March 3 that the US latest decision to conclude its military exercises with South Korea aims to save money and reduce tensions with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

* At least 23 people, some of them children, died after a tornado swept through Lee County, Alabama on March 3, and the death toll was expected to rise as rescuers searched through the rubble of destroyed homes, US authorities said.
