* Juozas Olekas, a former defense and health minister who has served seven terms in Lithuania's parliament, has been elected speaker of Lithuania's 14th Seimas.

* During a phone conversation on Wednesday with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that in this new era, China and the United States should work together for world peace and prosperity, tackle global challenges and shoulder their due responsibilities as major countries.
