The exhibition “Dance of Nature”, showcasing the winning entries from the Viet Nam Wildlife Photography Contest 2025, is taking place at SC VivoCity, Ho Chi Minh City, until November 14.

Organised by WildTour, the Viet Nam Wildlife Photography Club (VWPC), and BirdLife International, with support from the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association (HOPA) and sponsor Mapletree Investments, the exhibition celebrates the beauty of life and biodiversity through the lens of passion and patience.

Selected from 739 submissions by 136 photographers across 18 provinces, the images on display reveal a deep respect for nature and meticulous observation.

This year’s competition saw top prizes awarded to Ly Nguyen Long for “Giang Sen” (Painted Stork) – bird category; Phung Quang Hung for “Vooc cha va chan nau” (Red-shanked Douc Langur) – mammal category; and Ho Tan Thinh for “Araneae” – macro insect category. Four special commendations were also granted in recognition of works capturing rare reptile and amphibian species.

Beyond artistic merit, the collection serves as valuable documentation of Viet Nam’s biodiversity. Visitors are treated to intimate glimpses of wildlife behaviour: a mother langur nursing her young, a camouflaged tree frog, or a pair of dragonflies mating on still water — moments only achievable through patience and ethical, non-intrusive photography.

VWPC’s collaborations with BirdLife International, Mapletree, Canon, and other partners have helped foster a growing community of young photographers who use their craft to advocate for conservation. As photographer Vo Quoc Thuan, Vice President of VWPC, put it: “Nature photography is more than a hobby, it’s a way to preserve life itself.”
