Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung stated that the groundbreaking and initiation of 10 key infrastructure projects, which are part of a system of more than 21 major projects serving APEC, represent the construction of modern, synchronised infrastructure. These facilities will not only meet the needs of the conference but also promote the long-term development of both the locality and the country.
With the forthcoming integrated infrastructure system, Phu Quoc will not only be the venue for APEC but also stand as a symbol of a renewing, innovative Viet Nam, aiming to become a modern industrial developing country by 2030.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung emphasised that the APEC 2027 Leaders’ Week is a highly significant international event, receiving strong attention from General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and the leadership of the Party, the State and the Government.
He expressed his hope that socio-political organisations, mass organisations, and especially citizens affected by the projects will continue to support and create favourable conditions for implementation.
