Art programme celebrates 325th founding anniversary of Saigon – Ho Chi Minh City

An art programme entitled ‘The shining city’ was held at September 23 Park in Ho Chi Minh City on July 2 to celebrate the 325th founding anniversary of Saigon – Ho Chi Minh City (1698-2023) and the 47th anniversary since Saigon-Gia Dinh was officially named after President Ho Chi Minh (1976-2023).

The event brought together People’s Artists Ta Minh Tam and Trong Huu, as well as popular singers namely Dan Truong, Ho Trung Dung, Uyen Linh, and Khanh Ngoc.

The artists entertained the audience with songs and dances, reminding them of the history and development achievements of Ho Chi Minh City over the past 47 years.

48 years ago, the Ho Chi Minh campaign ended successfully, contributing to the liberation of the South and the national reunification.

On July 2, 1976, the National Assembly decided to name the country the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and changed the name of Saigon – Gia Dinh city into Ho Chi Minh City.

Since it was named after President Ho, Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, authorities and people have exerted every effort to promote its heroic tradition and gain significant achievements, becoming a major economic hub of the country and the region.
