Joint efforts by the forces will help promptly repair damage, prevent encroachment, and contribute to building a border of peace, stability, cooperation, and sustainable development.
At present, functional forces are reinforcing Marker A, managed by Loc Thien Border Guard Station, covering an area of 16sq.m, and Marker B, managed by Loc Tan Border Guard Station, also covering 16sq.m. Both markers are located in Loc Tan Commune, Dong Nai City.
The reinforcement work was witnessed by Senior Lieutenant Colonel Doan Trong Nghia, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Dong Nai City Border Guard Command.
On the Cambodian side were Hak Chandra, Director of the Surveying Department under the Cambodia–Viet Nam National Joint Border Committee, and other leaders.
Representatives of the two sides coordinated in supervising the reinforcement work, including the construction of reinforced concrete foundations and surfaces.
Close coordination in supervising functional units during construction, maintenance, and repair aims to ensure that the national boundary marker system is repaired in accordance with approved designs. This also helps promptly report and propose to competent authorities solutions to newly arising issues during inspections of national boundary markers, thereby preserving the status quo of the borderline and markers, and effectively carrying out the management and protection of the national border.
At present, the Dong Nai City Border Guard is tasked with managing and protecting more than 258.9km of borderline, with 28 main markers and 353 auxiliary markers. The Dong Nai border area includes eight communes where dozens of ethnic groups live together.
