Binh Thuan: Vietnam Sea and Island Cultural Heritage Exhibition opens

An exhibition with the theme 'Vietnam's sea and island cultural heritage' opened in Binh Thuan Province, on August 27, introducing over 200 photos and artifacts about Vietnam's seas and islands.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of leaders of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee and provincial agencies and branches, along with functional units of the culture and tourism industry of 22 provinces and cities across the country participating in the exhibition.

The Vietnam Sea and Island Cultural Heritage Exhibition 2023 held in Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province is part of a series of activities within the framework of the 'National Tourism Year 2023 - Binh Thuan: Green convergence'.

This cultural event aims to introduce and honour the unique cultural and tourism values of the sea and islands to the people, domestic tourists, and international friends.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyen Dang Chuong, Director of Vietnam Culture and Art Exhibition Centre under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Head of the exhibition organising board, said the organising board wishes for the local people and tourists to understand more about the cultural heritage of Vietnam's sea and islands, which is an important part of the cultural heritage treasure of mankind; arouse more love for the motherland; and uphold the responsibility of the community and each individual in preserving cultural heritage values and protecting Vietnam's sovereignty over sea and islands in the integration period.

Nguyen Dang Chuong, Director of Vietnam Culture and Art Exhibition Centre under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the head of the exhibition’s organising board.

The exhibition includes four main contents: documents and artifacts about the history of Vietnamese sea and island culture; building and protecting Vietnam’s sovereignty over its seas and islands; art photos of Vietnam’s seas and islands; and Vietnamese youth with Vietnam’s seas and islands.

In addition, the cultural heritages, seas, and islands of 22 provinces and cities across the country are also displayed at the event.
