Our correspondents said that passengers had arrived at the bus stations since the early morning so as to catch the earliest buses.

To meet the surge in travel demand, the Hanoi authorities have increased bus trips by nearly 1,000 during the holiday.

Director of My Dinh Bus Station, Ly Truong Son, stated that the number of passengers on April 12 afternoon and April 13 morning shot up by 150% compared to a normal day.

The Hung Kings Commemoration holiday lasts three days until April 15.
