Conference seeks to foster business integrity in Vietnam

The event was organised by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in collaboration with the Centre for Social Governance Research (Censogor) and the Danish Embassy in Vietnam.

VCCI Vice-General Secretary, Nguyen Quang Vinh, said business integrity is an important issue in major regional and global economic forums, which bring together many national leaders and CEOs of large companies.

He stated that the issue has also been highlighted in many government resolutions, and promoting business integrity and transparency will greatly help enterprises to improve their productivity, competitiveness, reputation and positions on the market.

Therefore, all enterprises should implement integrity in every aspect of their business activities by using a set of anti-corruption tools, which is part of a VCCI programme known as Scheme 12.

The implementation of the initiative is expected to be one of the many measures to call forth business integrity and promote public awareness about anti-corruption.

Censogor’s executive director, Nguyen Thi Kieu Vien, said collective action has been proved to be an effective solution to anti-corruption in many countries in the world, including Vietnam.

She added that collective action should aim for three goals including internal risk assessment in case of corruption, implementation of anti-corruption policies and providing managers ways and solutions to take action.
