According to the Hue Department of Tourism, on the morning of October 17, the luxury cruise ship Ovation of the Seas, carrying more than 4,000 international passengers, docked at Chan May Port (Hue City) as part of its voyage to Viet Nam, after international cruise reception was temporarily suspended at Cai Mep–Thi Vai Port.

Chan May Port is currently regarded as a key destination for major cruise liners thanks to its strategic location between Da Nang and Hue and its upgraded infrastructure. It is one of 46 recognised cruise destinations in Southeast Asia, capable of accommodating vessels carrying thousands of passengers, with the goal of becoming a world-class international cruise port.

According to Saigontourist, the peak cruise season in Viet Nam extends from November to April next year. During this period, the company will welcome four additional international cruise ships, including the Celebrity Millennium with 1,800 passengers on November 9, and three voyages of the Celebrity Solstice on November 10, November 22, and December 4, each carrying about 2,800 passengers.

The frequent arrival of large cruise ships at Chan May Port highlights Hue’s growing appeal on the international maritime tourism map. Upon arrival, passengers joined guided tours to Hue, Da Nang, and Hoi An to explore the cultural and scenic beauty of Central Viet Nam.
