Quang made the request during a meeting with 17 ministries and central agencies on September 18.

According to the Ministry of Planning Investment (MPI), the disbursement rate of 17 ministries and agencies reached 44.12% as of August 31, which is higher than the national average of 42.35%.

In 2023, nearly 43 trillion VND (1.76 billion USD) has been allocated to such ministries and agencies.

Some ministries and agencies with high disbursement rates include the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Management Board, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Vietnamese Farmers Union.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy PM Quang underlined that public investment is highly significant to this year’s socio-economic recovery and development.

He commended the positive progress made by the ministries and agencies since the meeting in April, as well as the disbursement completion likelihood of those allocated a large amount of capital.

The government leader requested that ministries and agencies should take bolder actions, make detailed plans with clear responsibilities, choose competent contractors and submit monthly reports to the MPI.
