On the afternoon of November 27, on the occasion of attending the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and the delegation visited and had a cordial conversation with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy as well as representatives of the Vietnamese community in Cambodia.
Reporting on activities in the host country to Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and the delegation, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Minh Vu said that the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Cambodia continue to be strengthened thanks to the attention and promotion of high-level leaders, making strong progress in all areas.
Delegation exchanges at all levels, especially high-level exchanges, have been paid attention, reflecting the highest level of attention and commitment of leaders of both countries in building mutual trust and consolidating traditional friendship. Building on the solid foundation of political trust, many areas have achieved positive progress, particularly regarding cooperation in trade and investment.
At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the officials, staff members, employees of the Embassy, and the Vietnamese community in Cambodia.
He expressed his delight at the increasingly strong friendly and cooperative relations between neighbouring Cambodia and Viet Nam in all fields.
Sharing with the community about their difficulties, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son stressed that the Party and the State of Viet Nam always pay close attention to the Vietnamese community in Cambodia. He expressed his hope that the community would continue to stay united, support each other, comply with the local laws, and work together for development.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son said he would discuss with the Cambodian side solutions to remove difficulties and create more favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community in the country, helping them to feel secure in their lives and businesses and make practical contributions to Cambodia’s development, as well as to strengthening the traditional friendship and good neighbourliness between the two countries.
On behalf of the Vietnamese-origin community and Vietnamese businesses in Cambodia, Chau Van Chi, Chairman of the Khmer–Viet Nam Association in Cambodia, and Doctor Heng LiHong, Permanent Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Viet Nam–Cambodia Business Association, expressed their gratitude to the Party and the State of Viet Nam for their attention and support in recent time, helping the community live and work stably in Cambodia. Representatives of the community also affirmed the spirit of national solidarity and their responsibility towards the development of their homeland of Viet Nam.
Earlier the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and the delegation visited Metfone Telecommunications Company — a subsidiary of the Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) in Cambodia.
Sending greetings to all officials and staff of the company, the Deputy PM expressed pride in Metfone’s achievements and the sense of responsibility and pioneering spirit of its leadership and employees.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son praised Metfone for its contributions to Cambodia’s socio-economic development, as well as for its corporate social responsibility activities that help strengthen the friendship and solidarity between Viet Nam and Cambodia.
After listening to the company’s business report and proposals, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son affirmed he would convey these proposals to the Cambodian leadership so that Metfone and other Vietnamese enterprises operating in Cambodia can enjoy more favourable conditions to continue developing and thus contribute to nurturing the relations between the two countries.
