Division for protection of particularly important events and international guests receives “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” title

On the afternoon of August 18, a ceremony was held in Ha Noi for the Division for the Protection of Particularly Important Events and International Guests under the Guard High Command of the Ministry of Public Security to receive the “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” title.

Inheriting and upholding the traditions of previous generations of the Guard force, over nearly 60 years of building, combat, and growth, the Division for the Protection of Particularly Important Events and International Guests, also known as Division 6, has constantly renewed itself and grown stronger in all aspects. The unit has gradually improved its overall quality, focusing on building, training, and honing a contingent of officers and soldiers with firm political resolve and professional expertise.

Notably, since 2016, Division 6 has ensured absolute safety for nearly 1,300 major political, internal, and external affairs events of the country; and received more than 750 international delegations, including many heads of state from Viet Nam’s important partners.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan affirmed that guard work holds a particularly important position and role in the cause of protecting national security, the Party, the State, and the socialist regime. This is a special protection task aimed at ensuring absolute safety for protected persons. The People’s Public Security Guard force is the specialised force that directly performs this particularly important duty.

The vice president said that the more we understand the duties of the Guard force, the more moved we are, because behind successful events and safe, well-organised high-level visits lies the painstaking training and meticulous practice of Guard officers and soldiers.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan congratulated and commended the particularly outstanding feats of arms and achievements of Division 6. She also highly valued the attention, leadership, direction, care, and comprehensive support provided by the Party Committee and leadership of the Guard High Command throughout the unit’s process of building, combat, and growth.

To meet the requirements of the new context, the vice president requested that the Guard High Command in general and Division 6 in particular continue building a truly revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern guard force that is absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, the Party, the State, and the people, with people as the decisive factor. She also emphasised the need to build clean, strong, and exemplary Party organisations and units.

The vice president noted the importance of promoting innovation, applying science and technology, and advancing digital transformation in guard work, while gradually mastering modern means, equipment, and technologies.

At the ceremony, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan presented the “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” title to the Division for the Protection of Particularly Important Events and International Guests for its particularly outstanding achievements in maintaining political security, social order, and safety from 2015 to 2025, contributing to the cause of building socialism and safeguarding the Fatherland.
