The exhibition was a political activity to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People’s Navy (May 7, 1955- 2025); associated with the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification and welcoming the Congress of the Party Committee of Naval Region No.3 for the 2025-2030 tenure.
The exhibition displayed images, documents, and artifacts highlighting the position, role, and importance of the sea and islands in the cause of economic development, national defence and security, affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.
Through the documents and images displayed at the exhibition, the heroic tradition and outstanding achievements of the Vietnam People’s Navy in the resistance war against the US to save the country and carry out international missions in Cambodia (1955-1989) were also highlighted; and the process of building a revolutionary, elite, modern Vietnam People’s Navy and foreign defence activities.
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Colonel Pham Dinh Thanh, Deputy Political Commissar of Naval Region No.3, emphasised: “In recent years, Naval Region 3 has coordinated with localities to effectively to organise many programmes and activities to inform and propagate the sea, islands and Vietnam’s sovereignty over the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa.”
The exhibition is very important for the officers, soldiers and people in the stationed area to witness with their own eyes the precious images, documents and artifacts about the Vietnam People’s Navy over the past 70 years of building, fighting, winning, growing and developing.
