According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the ministry has issued a decision on organising the film week in celebration of the 24th Viet Nam Film Festival.
Under the decision, the ministry assigned the Department of Cinema to take the lead and coordinate with the National Cinema Centre, the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City and Dak Lak Province, as well as other relevant agencies, in organising the film week.
The film week is scheduled to take place from November 15 to 20 across provinces and cities nationwide.
The event will feature screenings of a selection of notable Vietnamese films, including ‘Vang Trang Tho Au’ (The Childhood Moon), ‘Dao, Pho va Piano’ (Dao, Pho and Piano), ‘Mui Co Chay’ (The Scent of Burning Grass), ‘Hong Ha Nu Si (Hong Ha Lay of Letters), ‘Binh Minh Do’ (Red Dawn), ‘Mua Do’ (Red Rain), ‘Hoa Nhai’ (Jasmine), ‘Toi Thay Hoa Vang Tren Co Xanh’ (Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass), ‘Ha Noi 12 Ngay Dem’ (Ha Noi – 12 Days and Nights), and ‘Nha Tien Tri’ (The Prophet), among others.
In addition to film screenings, the film week will include interactive sessions between audiences and film crews in six provinces and cities: Ha Noi, Quang Ninh, Quang Tri, Da Nang, Dak Lak, and Can Tho.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has tasked the National Cinema Centre with organising film screenings, designing and printing invitations, and hosting the opening ceremony of the film week in Ha Noi. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City will direct the Da Nang Cultural and Cinema Centre to organise the film week locally, while the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak Province will assign the Provincial Film Distribution and Screening Centre to coordinate screenings in Dak Lak.
The decision also stipulates that the Chief of the Ministry Office, the Director-General of the Department of Cinema, the Director of the Planning and Finance Department, the Director of the National Cinema Centre, the directors of the provincial and municipal Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Departments of Culture and Sports of 34 provinces and cities, along with relevant organisations and individuals, are responsible for implementing this decision.
