Expenditure in the first seven months was estimated at 1,364.3 trillion VND, equivalent to 43.2% of the target and up 7.7% year on year.
Of this, spending on development investment was estimated at around 418.9 trillion VND, equivalent to 37.4% of the target approved by the National Assembly, while public investment disbursement was estimated at 41.3% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister.
Interest payments were estimated at 56.5% of the budget estimate, while recurrent expenditure reached 48.4% of the target.
As of the end of July, 201.2 trillion VND worth of government bonds had been issued, with an average maturity of 9.3 years and an average interest rate of 4.12% per year.
Regarding import and export activities, the Ministry of Finance said that export value in July reached 53.08 billion USD, up 25% year on year, while imports reached 56.67 billion USD, up 41.4%.
In the first seven months of 2026, total merchandise export value reached 319.53 billion USD, up 21.7% year on year. Imports reached 340.05 billion USD, up 34.8%, resulting in a trade deficit of 20.52 billion USD.
Regarding business activity, the Ministry of Finance said the number of enterprises entering and re-entering the market in the first seven months reached over 187,000, up 7.5% year on year and higher than the number of enterprises withdrawing from the market, at over 155,000.
The country currently has nearly 1.07 million operating enterprises, an increase of around 4.8% compared with the end of 2025.
