Ho Chi Minh City concert to feature masterpieces by Beethoven and Rachmaninov

The Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera will host a concert entitled ‘A Night of Beethoven & Rachmaninov’ at the city’s Opera House on July 13.

The audience will have the chance to admire the masterpieces of two great genius composers: Ludwig van Beethoven and Sergei Rachmaninov.

The artists will bring to the stage Rachmaninov's spectacular piano compositions, Piano Concerto No. 2, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 4 in B flat major.

The programme will be organised under the baton of conductor Meritorious Artist Tran Vuong Thach, with the notable participation of acclaimed pianist Nguyen Bich Tra.

Nguyen Bich Tra is an artist who was born in Hanoi and works in London (England). She is the first Vietnamese artist to sign a solo recording contract with Naxos, one of the world's leading record labels.

Her three solo CDs have been released globally by Naxos since the end of 2011, helping her to promote her talents through many competitions and gain recognition at international music awards.

She was one of the 10 typical faces of Vietnamese youth in 2002 and was the first Vietnamese to be awarded the title of ARAM (Associate of the Royal Academy of Music — a member of the Royal Academy of Music, UK) for outstanding musical contributions in 2013.
