At a cost of nearly 1.5 trillion VND (63.6 million USD), the 7-kilometre section is expected to help improve the link between Ho Chi Minh City and southwestern provinces while connecting the city’s southern gateway with the Ben Luc-Long Thanh Expressway and its third ring road.

The project includes 4.4 kilometres of new road from intersecting with Nguyen Van Linh Street and the current National Highway 50 as well as the expansion of 2.6 kilometres of existing road.

To date, 85% of land needed for the construction of the road has been cleared and site clearance is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2023 so that the project can be completed by the end of 2024.

In addition to this project, Ho Chi Minh City is planning to kick off another project to build the An Phu Interchange in the coming days, aiming to improve the transport network at the gateways to the city.
