The event was attended by leaders of the RoK–Viet Nam Friendship Associations, representatives of the Embassy of Lao in the RoK, delegates from Vietnamese community organisations, and more than 500 Vietnamese nationals, Korean friends, and business representatives.

Addressing the event, Ambassador Vu Ho extended New Year greetings to all guests and the Vietnamese community in the RoK. He noted that Lunar New Year is a time when every Vietnamese person, wherever they may be, turns their thoughts towards family, roots, and their beloved homeland.

Ambassador Vu Ho expressed his hope that, with a proactive spirit in implementing and bringing the resolutions of the 14th National Party Congress into life, the Vietnamese community in the Republic of Korea would enter a new phase with a renewed mindset, position, and image. This would be characterised by greater confidence, initiative, and responsibility, and by a community that is united, civilised, compassionate, and closely connected with the homeland while becoming ever more deeply integrated into the host society.

On the occasion, the Embassy of Viet Nam presented certificates of merit to recognise the contributions of several individuals and organisations actively involved in community activities.

On the same day, the Embassy of Viet Nam in Kuwait also solemnly organised the Homeland Spring — Lunar New Year 2026 programme, combined with celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Kuwait (1976–2026).

The programme was attended by all embassy staff along with a large number of overseas Vietnamese residents, Vietnamese students in Kuwait, members of the press, and Kuwaiti friends.

Delivering the opening remarks, Ambassador Nguyen Duc Thang, on behalf of the staff of the Embassy of Viet Nam in Kuwait, extended his warmest New Year wishes to the Vietnamese community and their families, as well as to Kuwaiti friends.

The year 2026 also marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Kuwait.

This journey has entered a new chapter with the upgrading of bilateral ties to a strategic partnership during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to Kuwait in November 2025, marking a new level of political trust and substantive cooperation across multiple fields.

On the occasion of the New Year, Ambassador Nguyen Duc Thang expressed his hope that the Vietnamese community in Kuwait would continue to uphold traditions of patriotism, solidarity, and mutual support; focus on building a good life in the host country; and join hands in contributing to the shared goal of building a prosperous, civilised, and happy Viet Nam.

Alongside a culinary exchange featuring traditional dishes and a cultural display showcasing Vietnamese heritage, the programme also included artistic performances imbued with the spirit of the homeland’s spring. These performances, presented by community members, children, students, and embassy staff, left a lasting impression and filled the Vietnamese community in Kuwait with hope and optimism for the New Year 2026.
