In Pictures: Vietnamese in Russian capital joyfully celebrate Lunar New Year
On January 24, a gathering was held at the Hanoi - Moscow multifunctional complex Incentra in the Russian capital of Moscow for Vietnamese people to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
The Vietnamese community joyfully celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year at Incentra.
The programme was attended by the Vietnamese Ambassador to the Russian Federation Dang Minh Khoi, President of the Union of Vietnamese Organisations in Russia Do Xuan Hoang, General Director of Hanoi-Moscow Trade Centre Investment Joint Stock Company (INCENTRA) Nguyen Canh Hong Linh, along with a large number of Vietnamese residents living and working here.
Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi congratulated the Vietnamese community on their achievements in 2024 and emphasised that Vietnam's position in the Russian Federation is increasingly leaving a significant mark.
The Ambassador wishes all Vietnamese a happy and prosperous New Year 2025 with good health and greater success in life, as the nation enters a new era – the era of the nation’s rise.
This event provides Vietnamese residents living and working at Incentra a chance to connect, meet, and celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year together. It is a cherished tradition that reaffirms that, no matter where they are, Vietnamese people always remember their homeland and roots, especially during the transition from the old year to the new one.
General Director of Incentra Investment Company Nguyen Canh Hong Linh shares that the past year was full of challenges; however, with determination, the overseas Vietnamese overcame them, working together to build a united and strong community, abiding by the law, and integrating well into the local society.
Tet is a time when everyone wishes to return to their homeland for family reunions, but due to life circumstances and work, not everyone has the opportunity to do so.
Linh expresses his hope that the gathering can bring warmth, helping to ease the Vietnamese community's homesickness and convey the heartfelt affection of their homeland to everyone.
He expresses his sincere thanks to Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi, the departments of the Embassy, and Do Xuan Hoang for their assistance to the Vietnamese community at Incentra throughout 2024.
Attending the programme, the Vietnamese community at Incentra is filled with excitement and joy. They express pride in the country's development and remain optimistic that Vietnam will continue to achieve new milestones in 2025.
The gathering strengthens the bond among the community in the largest Vietnamese area in Russia. It also provides an opportunity for second and third-generation Vietnamese children in Russia to learn more about the rich culture, customs, and traditions of the Vietnamese people.
Incentra was constructed in 2010 and officially inaugurated at the end of 2013, with a total area of nearly 40,000 square metres, integrated with the Hanoi-Moscow Complex, which includes high-end apartments and hotels, as well as a commercial centre. According to Nguyen Canh Hong Linh, over 600 Vietnamese people live and work here.
