According to Nguyen Phong Doanh, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien An District in the northern port city of Hai Phong, and Head of the Organising Committee, the event is one of the practical sports activities to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19), National Day (September 2); and the 30th anniversary of the founding of Kien An District (August 29, 1994 - 2024).
At the same time, the event is also an activity in response to the “All people exercise following Great Uncle Ho’s example” campaign, encouraging people to exercise, play sports, and improve their health, to serve their studies, work and production, to build and protect the Fatherland.
According to the Organising Committee, the run to conquer Thien Van Peak will gather more than 2,000 athletes, including semi-professional and amateur athletes, with two competition distances of 3,000m and 10,000m.
