The running event drew nearly 1,500 people, including employees of the MOIT; representatives of social organisations, trade association, and enterprises; running enthusiasts; and athletes from some running clubs.

Speaking at the event, MOIT Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan said that a wide range of activities will be organised by the ministry in March in response to the 2024 Earth Hour campaign.

The highlight of the activities will be the call for the community and enterprises to turn off their lights from 20:30 to 21:30 on March 23.

The deputy minister said the running event will provide another voice to spread the message of saving energy throughout the community such that it will become a year-round habit.

He took the occasion to call on all people and the business community to join hands in realising the net-zero emission goal by 2050 in accordance with Vietnam’s commitment at the COP26 climate conference.
