Landmark publications on President Ho Chi Minh reissued

The Su That (Truth) National Political Publishing House has reissued three landmark book series on President Ho Chi Minh — Ho Chi Minh Complete Works (15 volumes), Ho Chi Minh – A Chronological Biography (10 volumes), and President Ho Chi Minh: On This Day in History (2 volumes) — to mark the upcoming 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.

These publications form an authoritative body of official documentation that crystallises the profound theoretical and practical legacy of President Ho Chi Minh, affirming his historic stature inseparable from the destiny of the Vietnamese nation.

The reissued works contribute to strengthening public trust, safeguarding the Party’s ideological foundations, and providing an intellectual anchor as Viet Nam enters a new era of development.

First published in 1990, Ho Chi Minh Complete Works initially comprised 10 volumes with around 1,800 writings. Following subsequent revised and expanded editions, the third edition has now been completed, featuring 15 volumes, gathering approximately 3,300 verified and authenticated works written between 1912 and 1969.

This collection is regarded as an invaluable spiritual asset of the Party and the people, vividly reflecting Ho Chi Minh’s journey to find a path for national salvation and his strategic leadership that guided the Vietnamese revolution from one victory to another.

Compiled by the Institute of Ho Chi Minh and Party Leaders, Ho Chi Minh – A Chronological Biography is a major scholarly work that systematically records events in strict chronological order. Beginning with May 19, 1890 — his birthdate — the series traces his life from youth through decades of revolutionary activity, national independence, and lifelong dedication to national liberation and reunification, while illuminating both domestic and international historical contexts.

Meanwhile, President Ho Chi Minh: On This Day in History, compiled by historian Duong Trung Quoc, offers a fresh daily-based approach. Each date captures pivotal decisions alongside intimate moments of care for cadres, soldiers, and citizens, highlighting the harmony between national affairs and everyday humanity that defined Ho Chi Minh’s character.
