"Love Vietnam So Much" project implemented in Lai Chau

The "Love Vietnam So Much" project, implemented by Nhan Dan Newspaper and its technology partners, has successfully installed NFC chip-equipped boards (wireless connectivity technology) at historical, cultural, and tourist sites in Lai Chau. Through these chip-equipped boards, locals and visitors can enjoy a unique experience, discovering a heroic yet mysterious and poetic Lai Chau.

The "Love Vietnam So Much" project is carried out by Nhan Dan Newspaper in response to and in preparation for the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025).

Using wireless connectivity technology, the "Love Vietnam So Much" project is being implemented across all provinces and cities in Vietnam.

The project's long-term goal is to create new and unique experiences for both locals and tourists, such as interactive challenge games for check-in, visitor guidance, traffic control, and event notifications. This initiative aims to promote the image of the country, its people, historical landmarks, and famous tourist destinations throughout Vietnam.

At all locations with NFC chip boards, visitors only need to place their smartphones with internet access close to the board, and follow the instructions. A link to the "Love Vietnam So Much" website will automatically appear on their screen.

Checking in at these locations allows visitors to see how many people have checked in before them. They can also review the places they have visited and access detailed information about these destinations.

After checking in and accessing this information, visitors can upload their photos along with a message for the "Love Vietnam So Much" program. These images and messages will be compiled into a digital map of Vietnam, featuring photos of people from all over the country.

To ensure security, visitors must physically be at the chip-installed locations to interact with the system. Additionally, all content on the "Love Vietnam So Much" website is carefully moderated before publication to maintain a respectful and culturally appropriate digital tourism space.

In Lai Chau, NFC chip boards have been installed at Ban Luot Historical Site in Muong Kim Commune, Than Uyen District; Sin Suoi Ho Community Tourism Village in Sin Suoi Ho Commune, Phong Tho District; and Le Thai To Temple in Le Loi Commune, Nam Nhun District. These are three well-known historical, cultural, and tourist destinations in Lai Chau.

Ban Luot is considered the birthplace of Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee. On December 2, 1949, the first Party cell of the present Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee was established at this historical site.

The establishment of the Lai Chau Party Cell marked the maturity of the local revolutionary movement at the time. It provided direct leadership in the struggle of Lai Chau's ethnic communities, thus contributing to the national resistance against foreign invaders.

During its early days in Ban Luot, the Lai Chau Party Cell received immense support from the local people, who provided shelter, protection, and assistance in secret, ensuring the Party’s revolutionary activities could continue.

In 2009, Ban Luot Historical Site was recognised as a provincial-level historical site and a revolutionary relic from the 1946-1954 resistance against the French.

Today, Ban Luot remains an essential historical landmark and an attractive destination for educating younger generations about patriotism and the proud revolutionary traditions of Lai Chau's ethnic communities.

Similar to Ban Luot, Le Thai To Temple is another culturally and historically significant site. It houses the original Le Loi Inscription Stele, a recognised national treasure.

In 1981, the Le Loi Inscription site was recognised as a national historical monument. Before 2012, the stele was located on a lower hillside beside Provincial Road 127, facing the Da River.

Due to the flooding caused by the Son La Hydropower Reservoir, the stele was cut from the Pu Huoi Cho cliff in 2012 and relocated 500 meters away to the Le Thai To Temple area, where it stands today.

In 2016, the prime minister issued a decision officially recognising the Le Loi Inscription Stele as a national treasure.
