Before the decision, Saigon Jewellery Holding Co. (SJC) had been the exclusive producer of gold bars under the brand SJC since August 23, 2012.
Under the new decision, the printing factory has the function of printing and casting paper money and coins, and producing gold bullion, gold souvenir items and valuable papers under the permission of the SBV.
The factory is also allowed to import materials, equipment and spare parts to serve the printing and casting of money, coins and valuable papers in accordance with the current regulations on import activities.
It can also run other business and production activities if given further consent from the SBV.
