National young theatre director competition winners awarded

Nhan Dan – The winners of the 2013 National Young Theatre Director Competition were announced during an awards ceremony at the Young World Theatre in Ho Chi Minh City on May 3.

Two gold prizes were presented to Phan Nhat Phi Long from the Young World Theatre in Ho Chi Minh City, for his drama ‘Xin mot cai ten’ (Applying for a Name), and Meritorious Quang Thap from the Thai Binh provincial Cheo theatre for his traditional opera entitled ‘Tam ao bao hoang de’ (An Imperial Robe).

Three silver and three consolation prizes were also given to outstanding contestants at the ceremony.

This year’s competition opened on April 22 and featured 20 plays and stage acts by 20 directors from 14 artistic units across the country.
