The newspaper and winners of other categories were honoured at an award ceremony held in Singapore on November 6 by the World Association of News Publishers (WAN-IFRA).
The project, which celebrates the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, was carried out over a six-month period. It includes a special information site at dienbienphu.nhandan.vn, an interactive panorama on the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, and two interactive exhibitions in Hanoi and Dien Bien Phu Province.
The special information site was developed by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with the Institute of Military History. Available in six languages (Vietnamese, English, Chinese, Russian, French, and Spanish), the page introduces the 56-day progression of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign.
On May 7, 2024, Nhan Dan Newspaper published the ‘Dien Bien Phu Campaign’ panorama supplement to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory. The key innovation of the supplement lies in its integration of augmented reality (AR) technology into traditional print media.
By cutting and assembling pieces from the supplement, readers can create a 3.21-metre-long panoramic picture and interact with it using augmented reality (AR) technology or scanning a QR code. This technology allows users to view a dynamic panorama in physical space.
