The event saw the presence of Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission Tran Tuan Anh along with members of the Party Central Committee: Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung; Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, Deputy Head of the PCC Commission for Communication and Education, and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association Le Quoc Minh; and Secretary of the Ha Nam Provincial Party Committee Le Thi Thuy.
At the programme, the Organising Committee honoured 63 artists and groups of artists who won gold medals at 7 festivals organised by the Department of Performing Arts in the past year.
The Selection Council, comprised of prestigious journalists, musicians and directors in the field of culture and arts, voted for outstanding artists in 6 categories, including: Outstanding TV Actor, Outstanding Singer, Outstanding Movie Actor, Outstanding Community Artist, Outstanding Live Music and Dance Show, and Outstanding Music and Dance MV.
Speaking at the programme, Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee's Economic Commission Tran Tuan Anh spoke highly of the initiative proposed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for organising this honorary activity.
He suggested that the Ministry continue to pay attention to and foster the country's contingent of artists; create all favourable conditions for artists and writers to operate, promote artistic creativity, and build high-quality works imbued with national cultural identity; and remain determined to make a clear change in the task of building a healthy ideology, morality, lifestyle and cultural and artistic life.
