Over 1,800 tonnes of rice allocated for three provinces during lean season

More than 1,800 tonnes of rice from the national reserves, will be provided for the three provinces of Cao Bang, Lai Chau and An Giang, to allocate for residents between harvests in 2024.

On June 13, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai signed Decision No. 508/QD-TTg, on the allocation of rice.

Accordingly, more than 845 tonnes of rice will be provided for the northern province of Cao Bang, over 429 tonnes will be sent to the northern province of Lai Chau, and over 557 tonnes will be allocated to the Mekong Delta province of An Giang.

The government official asked the three provinces to take responsibility for the accuracy of reported data and timely grant rice support to the right subjects according to regulations.

In the first half of 2024, more than 13,000 tonnes of rice have been provided for nearly 900,000 people, according to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.
