According to Ho Van Lam, President of the Vietnamese Association in Thailand and President of the Thai–Vietnamese Business Association nationwide, generations of the Vietnamese community in Thailand have remained united, hardworking, and resilient in stabilising their lives, while preserving the Vietnamese language, customs, traditions, and national cultural identity.
Vietnamese entrepreneurs in Thailand have continued to play an active role in economic development, job creation, and positive contributions to local society, while also serving as an important bridge in promoting economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries.
In Moscow, the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia held a traditional “banh chung” (square glutinous rice cake) wrapping programme for spouses of embassy staff and officials from Vietnamese representative missions in Russia. This meaningful annual activity helps strengthen community ties, preserve national cultural identity, and create a warm atmosphere for overseas Vietnamese during the Lunar New Year.
At the Dong Xuan Trade Centre in Berlin, the Vietnamese Embassy, in coordination with the Vietnamese community in Germany, solemnly organised a community Tet celebration to welcome the Year of the Horse 2026.
The programme took place in a dignified and warm atmosphere, with overseas Vietnamese gathering to welcome the new spring with confidence and expectations for a successful, happy, and prosperous year.
Addressing the event, Vice President of the German Bundestag Bodo Ramelow affirmed that more than 200,000 Vietnamese living and working in Germany serve as “ambassadors of peace,” contributing to the promotion of cooperation between the two nations. He praised the two countries for their close collaboration in areas such as labour and vocational training.
On the evening of February 13, the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Osaka solemnly held a Tet reception attended by representatives of the Japanese Government, Ambassador in charge of the Kansai region Misawa Yasushi, representatives of associations, and a large number of Vietnamese and Japanese friends in the Kansai area.
In his opening remarks, Consul General Ngo Trinh Ha shared updates on the successful organisation of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam. The Congress ushered in a new stage of national development, setting the goal of becoming a developing country with modern industry and upper-middle income by 2030, and a developed and high-income country by 2045.
The Consul General stressed that Japan remains one of Viet Nam’s leading strategic partners in key development priorities such as green transition, digital transformation, science and technology development, and innovation.
Consul General Ngo Trinh Ha affirmed that Viet Nam’s national strength is rooted in the great national unity bloc, of which the Vietnamese community in Japan forms an inseparable part, contributing significantly to national strength. On this occasion, he expressed gratitude to the Japanese Government, local authorities, and Japanese friends for their continued support of the Consulate General and for creating favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community. He also extended his best wishes to the Vietnamese community in Japan, describing them as a vital bridge in advancing Viet Nam–Japan relations.
Speaking at the event, Le Thuong, President of the Vietnamese Association in Kansai, expressed deep appreciation to the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Osaka, describing it as a legal pillar and a shared home that consistently accompanies, listens to, and supports the Vietnamese community in the Kansai region. She also highlighted the positive contributions of Vietnamese residents and students in Kansai and thanked Japanese authorities and friends for their goodwill and cooperation toward the Vietnamese community there.
