Park Hang-seo officially ends his contract with VFF

Park Hang-seo, head coach of the Vietnam national football team, officially ended his contract with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) on January 31.

Coach Park Hang-seo affirmed that to have success like today, he has always received the support of Vietnamese fans. Therefore, the Korean expert has decided to organise a meeting with fans in Hanoi. After this meeting, he will return to the Republic of Korea.

Accordingly, the meeting between coach Park Hang-seo and the fans is scheduled to be held on the evening of February 2. In particular, the 30 luckiest fans will have a chance to receive souvenirs, including Coach Park Hang-seo’s badge, balls with his autograph and many other gifts.

After the end of the contract with VFF, coach Park Hang-seo has not revealed a new destination. He said that no matter what he does, his upcoming jobs will be related to football.

It is expected that in February, the identity of the new head coach of the Vietnam national football team will be announced.

Park Hang-seo signed a contract with VFF to coach the national team in late 2017. Under his instructions, Vietnam won a silver medal at the 2018 Asian U23 Championship, took the AFF Cup 2018 trophy, and entered the quarterfinals of the AFC Asian Cup 2019.

The national team also won gold medals at the SEA Games 2019 and 2021 and entered the final qualifying round of the World Cup 2022 for the first time.

Vietnam also maintained their top position in Southeast Asia and kept the position as the longest-serving Southeast Asian country in FIFA’s top 100.

The RoK coach has twice extended his contract with VFF, in 2019 and 2021.
