Pilot issuance of passports through public service portal begins

The Vietnam Immigration Department and the Hanoi Police have piloted the issuance of universal passports through the National Public Service Portal since May 15, according to the Vietnam Immigration Department under the Ministry of Public Security.

People can log into the public service of the Ministry of Public Security at http://dichvucong.bocongan.gov.vn to register for the issuance of passports.

After piloting in Hanoi, the online issuance of universal passports will be officially launched nationwide from June 1.

This is a level 4 public service, serving Vietnamese citizens by logging into the Government public service portal or the Ministry of Public Security’s service to register documents, pay fees online, and receive passports by post.

People can log into the Government Public Service portal at http://dichvucong.gov.vn or the public service of the Ministry of Public Security at http://dichvucong.bocongan.gov.vn to register for the issuance of passports.

All Vietnamese citizens living in Vietnam with a valid electronic chip or 12-digit citizen identification card and a valid account on the Government public service portal can apply for this service.
