The year 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Viet Nam and has also been designated as the Year of People-to-People Exchanges. He noted that the event was not only an opportunity to introduce Shaanxi’s culture and tourism, but also a symbol of civilisational interaction and people-to-people friendship between the two nations. The programme offers Vietnamese friends a chance to discover Shaanxi’s rich tourism resources and appeal, thereby deepening understanding of China’s diverse culture.

Shaanxi is regarded as the cradle of Chinese civilisation, the eastern starting point of the ancient Silk Road, and an important link in China’s Belt and Road Initiative. With its long history and harmony between human and natural heritage, Shaanxi is often described as a “natural history museum.”

Deputy Director of Shaanxi Department of Culture and Tourism Liu Hairong highly values cooperation and exchanges with Viet Nam. In recent years, the two sides have co-organised many promotional events and fairs, fostering closer people-to-people ties. Currently, Shaanxi is implementing many favourable policies for international visitors, including a 240-hour visa-free transit policy. She expressed her hope that more Vietnamese tourists will visit Shaanxi and pledged to work with Viet Nam to expand air routes, support travel companies on both sides to develop unique products, improve service quality, and boost two-way tourist exchanges.

With an abundance of cultural and tourism resources, Shaanxi captivates visitors not only with the majestic Qinling Mountains, the perilous Huashan peaks, the mysterious Zhongnan Mountains, and the millennia-old ancient city of Xi’an, but also with its diverse cuisine, vibrant folk culture, and distinctive traditions. With its unique blend of ancient charm and modern vitality, Shaanxi is opening its doors to welcome international friends.
