The Clipper Race is an annual traditional yacht race around the world within 12 months. With a minimum track of 35,000 miles, its destinations feature many famous cities.
Under the agreement, Quang Ninh province will send a boat and a racing team named ‘Ha Long Bay – Vietnam’ to join the race for the 2019-2020 season.
The Vietnamese participants will wear clothes with logos of Ha Long Bay – a UNESCO-recognised World Natural Heritage Site.
During the 2021-2022 season, Ha Long Bay will be one of destinations for the Clipper Race and the image of the world natural wonder will be attached to the boats.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee Vu Thi Thu Thuy said that Clipper Race is a new opportunity for Quang Ninh tourism in particular and Vietnamese tourism in general.
