The temple was renovated and expanded over an area of 1,000 square metres at a total cost of VND105 billion (US$4.7 million) in Mai Phu commune of Loc Ha district.
Earlier, a 10.8m-high bronze statue of the king was casted at the Mai Hac De Square in the coastal commune.
Mai Hac De, whose real name was Mai Thuc Loan, was leader of the 722 uprising against Chinese rule and proclaimed himself king of Vietnam.
