More than 20 works were performed in the programmeaccording to three main themes: Nature; beautiful sceneryand human relationships; and culture — which can be considered the most typical slices of the fusion between classical, Nordic-Celtic folk and New Age in Secret Garden’s music, bringing a beauty that is both elegant, pure, and profound and lyrical.
True to the promise of creating one of the most impressive stages in Secret Garden’s touring career, director Pham Hoang Nam painted an artistic space full of inspiration to support the sublime musical works.
Large LED screens combined with visual art projection technology made the performance stage magical and shimmering, stretching both in width and depth, painting a pleasing musical picture. Along with the graphic images showing a deep connection with the melody, the appearance of famous landmarks and traditional Vietnamese motifs on the screen also contributed to creating a performance space that was both Vietnamese and international, minimalist but still rich in evocative power.
The programme ended with the melody of “You Raise Me Up” — a song that has touched millions of hearts around the world and was performed by a series of famous singers and bands — creating a perfect ending in the emotional explosion of the audience. Thousands of music listeners simultaneously turned on their flashlights to express their feelings for the music and the artists.
More than just a concert, “Secret Garden Live in VietNam” also carries the message of love for music, compassion, and cultural connection between Viet Nam and the world. The event also marked the opening show of their world tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of their musical career. After the schedule in Viet Nam, Secret Garden will continue to tour in major cities of China.
The concert “Secret Garden Live in Viet Nam” is the third event in the “Good Morning Viet Nam” international community music project, jointly organised by Nhan Dan Newspaper and IB Group Viet Nam. It follows the success of “Kenny G Live in Viet Nam” and “Bond Live in Viet Nam.”
More than just a bridge bringing world-class music to Vietnamese audiences, the “Good Morning Viet Nam” project’s organisers also aim to promote the image of Viet Nam internationally through music videos produced with participating international artists. As in previous years, all ticket sales from the concert will go toward charitable purpose — a humanitarian goal that Nhan Dan Newspaper and IB Group Viet Nam have consistently upheld.
Following two resounding successes, “Secret Garden Live in Viet Nam” marks the next milestone in the “Good Morning Viet Nam” journey — bringing world-class music closer to the Vietnamese public while spreading humanitarian values through charity-driven performances.
