According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the festival will be attended by artisans, performers, and athletes from Ha Noi, Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Son La, and Thanh Hoa — localities with large Muong communities. A variety of cultural, sporting, and tourism activities will take place, including folk art performances, gong and drum shows, traditional weaving demonstrations, fashion displays, photo exhibitions, academic seminars, and folk games.
A highlight of the programme will be the opening ceremony of the festival, held in conjunction with the “Great National Solidarity – Viet Nam Cultural Heritage Week”, on the evening of November 21. The event will symbolise the unity and close bond among Viet Nam’s ethnic groups — a core value that underpins the nation’s enduring strength.
In addition to honouring and promoting Muong cultural heritage, the festival also aims to strengthen links in community-based and eco-tourism development, foster cultural exchanges, attract investment, and promote sustainable development in Muong-inhabited areas.
As part of the event, the organisers will host a Famtrip for travel enterprises to survey tourist destinations in Thanh Hoa Province, alongside booths showcasing cultural and tourism products that highlight local identity.
With its rich legacy encompassing the “De Dat De Nuoc” (The Birth of Earth and Water) epic, gong culture space, stilt houses, traditional costumes, cuisine, and unique folk festivals, Muong culture forms one of the key components of Viet Nam’s cultural identity — a unity built upon diversity.
