Seminar discusses contributions of Vietnam’s volunteer soldiers and experts to Laos’ construction and defence

The Ministry of Defence held a seminar in Hanoi on October 25 to mark the 75th anniversary of the traditional day of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts in Laos (October 30, 1949 – 2024).

The event was attended by leaders of the ministries of defence of the two countries, along with scientists, Vietnamese revolutionary veterans, and former Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts who joined the Lao army and people’s struggle against invaders.

It aimed to honour the significant services of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts in Laos as well as to educate the people of the two countries, especially the younger generations, about the invaluable bilateral tradition of Vietnam-Laos special relations.

The seminar featured more than 80 presentations analysing the roles played by Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts in the success of Lao’s revolutionary cause for independence as well as their contributions to deepening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
