Virtual career fair offers job opportunities to workers after pandemic

A virtual job fair connecting six provinces and cities took place on October 28, with more than 8,300 vacancies on offer across various industries.

The Hanoi Employment Service Centre in coordination with provinces and cities of Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Bac Kan and Thanh Hoa held the virtual job fair to support enterprises in restoring business activities and help workers find jobs after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nearly 80 enterprises attended the fair who were committed to creating conditions for workers, especially those lost their jobs due to the pandemic to get access to information on vocational training and job opportunities suitable to their abilities.

Five groups of jobs are in high recruitment demand, including manufacturing workers, technical workers, skilled workers, sale workers, and machine operators.

The fair saw the participation of many large and reputable enterprises such as Big C supermarket system, Skymond, Elentc Vietnam, Viet Chuan JSC, and others.

Enterprises from Bac Giang posted the highest recruitment demand with more than 2,300 vacancies while Hanoi enterprises offered nearly 1,000 vacancies.

Deputy Director of the Hanoi Employment Service Centre Vu Quang Thanh said that the centre aims to work with the municipal People’s Committee and the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs to organise mobile job fairs depending on the situation of the pandemic.

Director of the Bac Giang Employment Service Centre Nguyen Van Hue expressed his hope that the online job fair will help workers quickly return to work, contributing to ensuring the lives of workers and promoting production and business activities of enterprises.
