The campaign, entitled “Lunar New Year - Tet for the poor and Agent Orange victims”, is jointly organised by the Vietnam Red Cross Society (VNRC) Central Committee and Military-run telecommunications group Viettel.

The event is part of activities to realise the nation’s sustainable poverty alleviation, as well as support those in need, to have to warm Tet holiday.

Supporters can join the programme by texting “TET” to 1409 from 00:00 on December 15 to 24:00 on February 12. Each mobile text message will contribute at least 20,000 VND (0.87 USD) to the impoverished.

The VNRC is striving to mobilise and present at least 1.8 million gifts, each worth 500,000 VND, to poor and low income households, AO victims, policy beneficiaries, households affected by the COVID-19 epidemic and natural disasters in 2021, as well as other vulnerable groups.
